Uninstalling Microsoft Outlook Add-ins

The primary cause of all technical issues with EurekaWare is because of an incompatibility with another add-in to Microsoft Outlook. Since EurekaWare customizes the Outlook Contact form, any other add-in that makes modifications to that form could likely create an issue. For example, if you have an iPod by Apple, you will be surprised to know that it puts an add-in onto your Outlook that causes an issue with EurekaWare. Likewise, Plaxo modifies the Outlook Contact form. You must uninstall Plaxo, then install EurekaWare. You may later re-install Plaxo and it should work fine. When in doubt, please follow these instructions to remove other add-ins to Outlook and then try re-installing EurekaWare.

Microsoft Outlook 2003

1. Start Outlook 2003.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. On the Other tab, do one of the following:
• Remove COM add-ins. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click Advanced Options.
2. In the Advanced Options dialog box, click COM Add-ins.
3. In the Add-Ins available list, click to clear the check box for any add-ins that are installed.
4. Click OK to close the COM Add-Ins dialog box.
• Remove add-ins in the Add-In Manager. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click Add-In Manager.
2. Click to clear the check box of any undesired installed add-ins that are listed in the Add-In Manager dialog box. iTunes is known to be incompatible with EurekaWare.  Remove all others that affect the Outlook Contacts form.
3. Click OK.
4. Click OK to close the Advanced Options dialog box.
5. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.

Microsoft Outlook 2007

1. Start Outlook 2007.
2. On the Tools menu, click Trust Center.
3. Select the Com Add-Ins from the Manage drop down field at the bottom of the form and click the Go button
4. Remove add-ins in the Add-In Manager. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click Add-In Manager.
2. Click to clear the check box of any undesired installed add-ins that are listed in the Add-In Manager dialog box. iTunes is known to be incompatible with EurekaWare.  Remove all others that affect the Outlook Contacts form.
3. Click OK.
